When Is It Enough

I continue to make necklaces.
My collected pieces of strapping metal are the backing for these designs.
And I question myself about when is it enough?
When do I not make any more?

And I answer myself by saying
When I no longer enjoy making them.

For now I still am having fun with them, so I continue on.

Painting and Scribbling

More tea bag creating.
Don't think I will ever be able to stop with these.

I have many other things on the go, that I really should get to

but these keep calling to me

and I seem to have to answer.

Running

Nineteen long months ago, I received a concussion while playing in a hockey game.
I have since spent my time working towards healing.
I have spent many many hours laying quietly in a darkened room.
I was not able or allowed to do any exercise,
and struggled to read, work on the computer, watch TV, listen to music or the radio.

During the summer of  2012  I ached to be able to go out and run
 I wrote the following words.

******
I want to run,
and feel my heart
pounding.
Feel my body
ache and move.
I want to feel each muscle
do its work.
The sun shining down,
as I move my feet
in rhythm
down the road.
I want to run.

******

I took this picture of myself two nights ago - as I was running.
And the following pictures are of my view along the way.

Beauty is Found

I continue to work - or play - on tea bags,
joining together paint, images, pen, pastels and whatever else is within my reach.

But with it being mid fall, some work needing doing at our little cabin in the woods,
so we spent the weekend doing some wood burning and cleaning up

as well as wandering around

enjoying the beauty

everywhere

we looked.

Infatuation

I am still infatuated with playing with tea bags, images, and various mediums.

I love how the layers of paint look piled onto the tea bag

with bits and pieces of things I have added peeking through.

And with the frosty nights we have been having, our vegetation will soon be gone.
And so I seem to be drawn to create with these bits of vegetation that will not return for many months.

I wonder how long this infatuation will last.

Journey

My youngest daughter headed out on her first major -  without parents -  journey.
She left the wilds of our Northern Canadian home
and is now in Europe
where her and a friend are travelling for the next couple of months.

Before she left I made her a journal

She wanted the pages to be different sizes and messy - just my style!

I  also included a few pockets throughout the book

I miss her,
but I hope she has a wonderful adventure
