More Tea Bag Love

Once again I am back playing with my photographs on tea bags
with a mixture of paint, ink and pan pastel added to the mix.

The art piece (without the matte) measures about 14.5 X 9.5 cm.

I like looking at how the piece looks with a matte
Somehow it helps me see if it is finished

Below is the photograph I took that I created this piece from.

I often take photographs with the idea of using them in these tea bag type creations.

I should have a few more of these tea bag creations to share soon.

Inspired by Nature

I am constantly inspired by nature,
so knew I had to join in with the challenge theme of nature

I went on a 15 km (9 mile) hike a couple of days ago just a few miles from home
(photo above)

And last weekend my daughter and I drove a couple of hours to hike on the Alaskan coast.
We are always amazed the difference in vegetation that we find just a few hours away.

The forest is so big and lush compared to the forest where we live.

This short hike takes you to a little bay on the ocean,
where we love to explore and discover new things.

My pockets were heavy with smooth stones that I had collected,
and I also found a lovely piece of driftwood that found its way home with me.

The clouds and bits of showers added to the  beauty of the mountains.

On the hike back to the car, I picked a few pieces of fern

That joined my piece of driftwood

and a few of my rocks that I collected on the shore.

The beauty I find in nature is a constant inspiration.

Wandering Through

I added this creation to my tea bag makings.

I love creating with these bits and pieces
( tea bag, pencil/charcoal, paint, ink, pan pastels, collage bits, pen)

I am never sure where the wandering will take me.

Bits of Violet Meets Tea Bags

Lately I have been playing with mixed media tea bag creations.

Images of creations collided with tea bags
which I then added pan pastels
paint, ink and whatever else wanted to join in.

I was quite surprised when VIOLET yelled out to join in the fun.
It is not a colour I use often.

But it continued to call out to me

So I listened to it and continued

to create with tea bags, paint, pen, ink, and violet pan pastels.

Finding Violet

For the past number of months
I have joined Julie and Jennifer in the search for all the colours of the rainbow.
The last colour of our search is for violet.

I love finding 'violet' in the beautiful flowers

especially in the fields of beautiful springtime crocus.

Violet is a colour I rarely use in my creating, so I challenged myself to use it.
I picked out some deep purple flowers to make this accordion book.

It is now sitting on the windowsill with the light shining through it.

Geranium Botanical Bits

With autumn on its way, the flowers are finishing blooming,
therefore I decided to capture a few botanical bits
in a new little creation.

And now I head back outside to enjoy the beauty of the last few days of our summer
